I love what I do. My days at work are so rewarding; In fact, I’m proud to say it’s the best job I’ve ever had. I know this may seem strange to most, but helping people improve their health is a great feeling.
I value my clients immensely. I have people from all walks of life- Men and women, young and mature. Through my years of experience, I’ve realised men can find the thought of a colonic pretty daunting. I can understand why, but knowing men are suffering with digestive issues when this treatment could help them is so unfortunate, especially as the reason they aren’t coming is often due to feeling uncomfortable or embarrassed. The most common response after receiving a treatment from men, and sometimes women, is “actually, it wasn’t as bad as I thought!” Yes, it’s important to research colonics thoroughly and find the right therapist for you, but you must try the treatment and judge for yourself, otherwise you could miss out on improving your health and feeling better on a daily basis.
Having a Colonic can be a great experience, especially if your symptoms then reduce or disappear; being in pain or feeling uncomfortable through digestive issues is simply no fun. You will come away from this treatment with better digestive health and the knowledge to keep symptoms at bay. I’ve often been surprised at just how healing colonics can be to the body.
Nowadays, most digestive symptoms can be brought on by diet and lifestyle, so little changes can make all the difference. Men tend to love their meat. I know I’m generalising, but most of my male clients seem to! However, high meat intake can cause weight gain, constipation, IBS, bad/smelly wind and greasy/fatty stools. “Experimental studies show that all thermolyzed (ultra-heated) proteins can promote colon cancer and so do thermolyzed carbohydrates and fried fat”1. It stands to reason that you can make great health improvements through reducing your meat intake and simply increasing your fruit and vegetable intake instead. When addressing diet, my focus is balance; after all, we all need a little naughtiness in our lives! It’s important to become mindful with what you are eating. I want to enjoy my food with the knowledge that I am eating the right food that my body needs to grow, repair and nourish itself. In addition to diet, our work and personal lives also create lots of stress on the body and this can also have a detrimental effect on our colons, causing some unwanted symptoms; this is why cleaning, hydrating and looking after your gut is absolutely vital. If our bodies are stressed from the food we eat, then outside stresses can often seem worse.
When you come for a treatment expect to be immediately put at ease. It’s a relaxed and private environment. My focus is to make your feel comfortable. I want to help you feel better and get the best results. I’ve seen thousands of bottoms and I’ve seen more poo than you can imagine! It’s really not a big deal. I give these treatments daily and have done so for the past 5 years- I’m very passionate about poo! Weird, I know, but it’s just waste from the body; we all poo, it’s a natural response from our precious machine.
The biggest fear for men is having something inserted up their bum! There, I said it! It’s a small speculum, well lubricated and inserted into the rectum. The speculum is actually smaller than an average bowel movement. It’s gently inserted, and due to the lubrication, it’s a smooth and painless process. The initial stage takes a minute or so and whilst the water gently cleans your colon, we are lost in conversation about your diet and lifestyle. I’ve done this procedure many times and the more relaxed you are, with focus on your breath, the easier the session. Then before you know it, the session is over and you’ve gained better health and great nutritional knowledge.
We need to look after our bodies and the best way to do this is through hydration, diet, detoxification, exercise and rest. Try to look past any fears or embarrassment you may have and instead focus on yourself, your health and give your body what it deserves. Think of how many years you’ve been eating meat, processed foods, booze, taking medication etc- doesn’t your body deserve a little help?
The amount of toxic chemicals our bodies absorb daily is absurd. “Exposure to industrial chemicals and pollutants is contributing to a wide array of health problems, including asthma, breast cancer, and reproductive abnormalities, to name just a few”2. Cleaning products, Food, Drinks, Beauty products- the list goes on. When you have a colonic treatment you are essentially reducing the toxic load in your body by removing waste from the colon. If your digestion is impaired in any way, then food can stay longer in the body and this is why water, fibre and a healthy gut are essential for excellent digestion, absorption and elimination. If you are not getting rid of waste effectively then digestive issues like IBS, Constipation or Diarrhoea could develop, or worse still, colon cancer. If you keep your body clean then disease finds it very hard to thrive.
