Avacados

If you eat an avocado a day you’re body will LOVE you!

Even though high in fat, they are extremely good for you and the body needs GOOD FATS for survival.  Avocados are packed with nutrients and heart-healthy compounds.

SOME BENEFITS

– A great source of lutein, a carotenoid that works as an antioxidant and helps protect against eye disease.

– A great source of fibre (soluble and insoluble fibre) – good for the digestive system to ensure everything runs smoothly.  Soluble fibre slows the breakdown of carbohydrates in your body, resulting in feeling fuller for longer, preventing cravings for snacks i.e. reaching for that naughty biscuit!

– Contains folate – a vitamin that cuts the risk of birth defects thus protecting your unborn child.  Folate also lowers the risk of heart attacks and heart disease.  Definitely worth eating just for these reasons alone I’d say.

Oleic acid  – help reduce cholesterol levels.
