Gut healing foods

Monday, October 8, 2018 in Essential Health Recipes, News, Tips

Healing your digestive system is the best way to reduce food sensitivities and digestive issues.  We are what we eat, and if you eat the wrong foods, these could cause irritation and horrible digestive symptoms.

When I was a little girl, digestive systems were not as common as they are now.  Why is this?  I believe there are many reasons, some being:- high stress, dietary choices, toxic chemicals in our food and in our household goods, beauty products, pollution, electricals, lack of exercise… the list goes on.  Our poor digestive systems take a beating every day, so no wonder they become weakened and sensitive.

Fancy a sweet and tasty juice?  Beetroot is so good for the body, it cleanses our liver and kidneys.  Living in this toxic world its good to support our organs.  It has a lovely earthy taste and when coupled with fruit can taste delicious in a juice.

Blend 2 raw beetroots, 2 apples, 2 pears and 500ml of filtered water.  You can juice these or blend in a Nutribullet, and strain through a cotton filter food bag to obtain the juice.

Juicing and smoothies are a great way to gain those extra nutrients, which are vital of preventing disease and ensuring our bodies function correctly.

If you are new to juicing, then build up slowly until you get a taste for fresh vegetables juices.

Try the below basic combinations to start:

  • Spinach and Apple with water
  • Mango and Lettuce with water
  • Beetroot, Spinach and Lime with water
  • Banana and coconut milk

You get the idea.  Start basic, then get more adventurous.

Did you know that chewing your food upto 70 times per bite, could reduce digestive issues?

Monday, September 10, 2018 in News, Tips

None of us chew enough and so we are more likely to suffer with digestive issues like, flatulence, acid reflux, bloating, IBS etc…

We must chew our foods to a soupy consistency, for best digestion.  Chewing for a while in the mouth, before swallowing, can start digestion, by exercising the digestive tract, creating muscle movements and secretion of gastric juices, to stimulate peristalsis.

When chewing, enzymes from the cheeks and glands in the mouth, start the break down of foods, especially carbohydrates.  Mastication grinds, tears and rips our food apart, giving our taste buds time to detect what we are eating and so instructs the brain. The brain can then instruct the digestive organs what gastric juices to produce, in order to break down the incoming food. The digestive juices must be just so, the correct ratio, in order to break down the food properly.  This is why slowing down and taking your time whilst eating, can make a massive difference on how our digestion works.

Learning about your digestive system enables you to help reduce or prevent digestive issues.

Do you do a perfect poo?

Monday, September 10, 2018 in News, Tips

What is a perfect bowel movement?  Your poo can tell you a lot about your health?

Ideally you want to be having 1 to 3 substantial movements a day, morning time is good, as this shows your body is resting and repairing effectively during the night, whilst you sleep.

A perfect poo is like a smooth firm sausage shape, with no cracks, cardboard brown, with no strong odour, easy to pass. and no wiping.

So many people that I meet aren’t achieving this, so they are holding onto toxic material, which is effecting their health and their general well being.

Don’t be one of those people, do something about it and get the right advice.

Call Danielle and book a colon hydrotherapy session and see if you can improve your digestive system, and your health.
